The True Golden Hour
By Hayim Granot. The Key Publishing. $50.00
This book was born during the Gulf War and shaped by subsequent hostile events, the first and second Intifada, suicide bombers, the 2006 Lebanon War, in which Israel's northern residents were bombarded by a rain of missiles and the eight year bombardment of the residents of Sederot, just outside Hamas controlled Gaza. |

Terror Bombing By Hayim Granot and Jay Levinson. The Key Publishing, $50.00
In this book, Hayim Granot teams up with Jay Levinson, formerly employed by the CIA and the Israeli police for 20 years as a specialist dealing with counter terrorism and disaster response. The book uses the material in Granot's The True Golden Hour, also reviewed on this website, as the basis for the study of terrorism in general and terror bombing in particular. Coombs estimates that an explosive device, especially a vehicular bomb, is currently the most frequent means of terror used in about half the incidents worldwide.

Emergency By Neil Strauss. Harper, $16.99
The cover line on Strauss' book predicts, "This book will save your life." It's impossible to know if this will ever prove true for readers, but even if the book doesn't actually save lives, it does have plenty of information that might prove useful if the disasters that the author predicts, man made and natural, should ever come to pass.
