Intelligence Analyst Training- A Two Day Workshop

About this Training Workshop:

This workshop will focus on how to use intelligence to prevent an act of terrorism or violent crime. The Intelligence Analyst Training Workshop is designed to assist analysts working for public safety agencies, fusion centers, or law enforcement organizations in analyzing raw data to produce actionable intelligence.

The workshop is divided into four parts: "Part I - Understanding Intelligence," "Part II - Understanding the Adversary," "Part III - Analysis Techniques," and "Part IV - Case Studies & Practical Exercises." Each part combines operational principles, practical examples, and best-practices into an interactive workshop designed to stimulate collaboration. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how terrorist attacks and criminal activity have been executed in the past and how proper intelligence planning can help mitigate these events from occurring in the future.

About Your Speaker:

Christopher J. Poirier, Senior Analyst, IIT

Chris Poirier is a training & development Subject Matter Expert. From 2003-2009, Mr. Poirier supported the curriculum development and training of Army Information Operations (IO), which includes the core disciplines of Operations Security, Psychological Operations, Military Deception, Computer Network Operations, and Electronic Warfare.  As a strategic communication professional, he has worked and taught in the fields of public affairs, public relations, marketing communications, and negotiation. Chris also has experience in risk & vulnerability assessment, intelligence analysis, physical security, consequence management, and emergency medical operations. He is a self-defense and combatives expert and has taught personal protection seminars for over thirty years. Mr. Poirier retired after 23 years of service as a US Army officer.

Hosting Facility:  IIT provides Critical Infrastructure Protection and IT Security Engineering services.  IIT’s areas of expertise include Risk and Vulnerability assessments, security planning, operations centers, training, and exercise design/execution. IIT operates the Surface/Public Transportation and Water Information Sharing and Analysis Centers that provide 24/7 incident analysis and threat warnings.

No cancellations or transfers are accepted within 4 (four) weeks prior to the workshop start date. PLEASE NOTE: No shows will be liable for the entire registration fee. In the rare occasion that an event is cancelled or postponed, please note our reimbursement is limited to paid tuition only.

Location/Hotels:

The workshop will be held in the EWA/IIT Training Center at 13873 Park Center Road, Suite 200 in Herndon, VA 20171. The IIT Training Center is just 5 minutes from the Dulles Airport.  Complimentary Public parking is available. When driving up to the guard booth, simply dial “0” and tell the security officer you are attending the IIT training. All attendees will need to sign in on the guest sheet in the lobby, then take the elevator to the second floor, and make a right to get to Suite 200.

For nearby hotel reservations, we recommend the Hilton Dulles Airport, which is connected to the EWA building.
