Darryl B. Moody is a consultant in the homeland security and federal government arenas.  With 25 years as a professional consultant to government and industry clients, he is now a member of the Accenture, LLP team providing a range of services to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  Previously, he led the establishment of BearingPoint, Inc.’s prominent and successful homeland security practice.  He was responsible for the business unit that serviced the Department of Homeland Security and related law enforcement and intelligence activities and coordinated related services across all governmental levels, commercial entities, and international clients. He was recognized by Consulting Magazine in 2004 as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Consultants.

Mr. Moody has been directly involved with initiatives to improve the U.S. homeland security and resiliency.  He was one of the first 20 individuals assigned to the Transportation Security Administration task force in December 2001.  Since that time, Mr. Moody and his teams became one of the DHS’s most engaged business partners with services to nearly all DHS operating divisions and engagement in many of the Department’s most prominent programs.

In addition to his dedication to the homeland security mission, Mr. Moody is committed to helping small businesses contribute and succeed in this market.  He established an aggressive Mentor-Protégé program at BearingPoint which was acknowledged by DHS in March 2005 as the Mentor of the Year along with Thomas and Herbert Consulting LLC as the Protégé.  He has traveled the U.S. and internationally to recruit small companies and technology vendors to participate in the homeland security business.

Mr. Moody is a frequent contributor to the national dialog surrounding homeland security.  He has been interviewed and quoted in major trade and business publications regarding homeland security and has appeared on CNBC, PBS, and on C-SPAN discussing homeland security.  He has been frequently interviewed by and quoted in publications such as the Washington Post, Forbes magazine, Government Computer News, Federal Computer Week, Congressional Quarterly, and the National Journal.  In addition, Mr. Moody has been a featured speaker at international conferences on homeland security including the 2005 Jerusalem Homeland Security conference, and two National Security Conferences in Australia during 2004.  He was featured in the book “Terror, How Israel has coped and what America can learn”.  Mr. Moody has contributed to publications by George Mason University and the Massachusetts Institute for Technology on security and resiliency topics.

Mr. Moody is engaged in the homeland security community.  He served as the Vice Chairman of the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council.  He is also on the Board of the National Institute for Urban Search and Rescue.

Mr. Moody began his career in the U.S. Air Force as a project manager for electronic warfare and chemical warfare R & D projects.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Memphis State University and has done graduate studies in Computer Information Systems at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
